Job Description
Reporting to the EVP Technology, this position will work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Data Group. This hands-on Manager, Development will lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of web-based business applications for both internal and external use.

The Manager, Development will be responsible for managing large development projects simultaneously with many smaller, yet high priority, iterative system additions and modifications. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a development team of four (4) direct and (twenty) 20 indirect reports, including software developers and software quality assurance engineers, performing performance reviews, compensation discussions, skills development, career planning and recruiting new talent as required to manage varying workloads
  • Manage development of web-based applications and software, including design, architecture and execution
  • Responsible for ensuring quality through design reviews, code reviews and development of standards
  • Participation in new project definition for web-based applications working closely with the EVP Technology, PMO, Product Development, and Usability Design
  • Working closely with Product Development, SQA, and the PMO to ensure efforts for frequent application updates are successful
  • The position requires after hours work to support development releases and/or site maintenance

Required Job Related Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, plus a minimum of six (6) years of experience in web application development
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing teams of ten (10) or more direct reports in a dynamic fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of proven leadership experience developing and motivating development teams with a passionate, energetic and enthusiastic leadership style
  • A proven track record of successfully managing the delivery of web-based applications on a frequent release schedule, multiple releases per week
  • Minimum of four (4) years of ColdFusion and/or Java application development experience
  • Requires solid working knowledge of Java/J2EE architecture, application development, and/or application servers, e.g. JBoss
  • Ability to develop and mentor other developers
  • High technical competence, track record of strong technical accomplishments
  • Ability to transform business processes into solid design and development methodologies
  • Architecture, design, and development experience including hands-on knowledge of key web development technologies such as: HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, AJAX, and Web services
  • Experience with bug management and source control systems including an understanding of merge and release paradigms within a software development organization, SVN experience is a plus
  • Project planning and prioritization experience with knowledge of project management methods, practices and software, MS Project and Visio experience are a plus
  • Ability to write technical documentation, including code guidelines and best practices; ability to make technical presentations to Marketing, Product Management and various levels of management
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and function and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment providing leadership skills and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Job Description
We are looking for a passionate front-end web developer with strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript experience. In this role, you will be responsible for developing rich web user interfaces that integrate with back-end components and result in web solutions that people want to use. You will be part of a team that works on various web-based applications and ultimately contribute to a high-quality user experience. As a front end developer, you will work with the application development team to implement a presentation layer which delivers information from the application layer for further processing and display it in a variety of formats. A passion for new technologies and a drive to find better ways to implement user interfaces is key.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop rich web user interfaces that integrate with back-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Develop successful user interfaces that are standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible, and performance optimized

We are seeking an experienced Applications Developer to be an integral member of our development team. Primary Purpose
Develop and maintain business application programs to provide automation and information needed for company
operations. Support users by investigating and recommending solutions to application errors or maximizing
program efficiencies. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Primary Accountabilities
1. Analyzes and designs computer programming solutions as requested by analysts or management.
Investigates programs and systems to be created or changed, analyzing inputs and outputs. Informs project
coordinator/analyst and users as to the findings, status, and projected completion date of project.
2. Codes modifications to computer programs to meet design specifications as agreed upon by unit
management and analysts. Coding includes developing and modifying programs, window objects, reports,
interfaces, and batch processes. Follows Information and Technology development standards and
procedures in developing, modifying and editing code.
3. Tests computer applications and sub-systems to verify that coding was done correctly. Verifies systems and
programs to ensure that they meet intended results. Tests for all error contingencies. Corrects bugs that
may be discovered during the testing and quality assurance phase.
4. Verifies systems test region for intended results. Ensure that there is no impact on other processes and data
before requesting authorization for production migration from senior team members.
5. Documents applications, programs and systems to inform users on how to enter, change, and access
business information. Submits written batch and on-line user documentation to the technical editor for
technical manual preparation. Reviews draft material from the technical editor to ensure accuracy. Updates
the deliverables, notes, findings, decisions, discussions, and conclusions that were accumulated during the
analysis, coding, testing, and implementation phases of the project in the proper methodology directory
structures.
6. Attends project meetings to obtain clear interpretation of user task request. Responds to project coordinator
and user inquiries in a timely manner.
7. Participate in design walkthroughs and (JAD) Joint Application Development sessions. Provide constructive
criticism to the team to help enhance and add value to the team’s technical development and maintenance
efforts.

Position reports to the Systems Analyst or Sr. Analyst positions under the direction of the Information and
Technology Services Manager.
Decision-making/Authority
This position will apply experience and formal education to applications problems of a high degree of complexity
and scope. Errors in work could severely impact business operations and cause a direct loss in operations time.Review of work is done by the Senior Programmer/Analysts, Systems Analyst or Sr. Analyst positions under the
direction of the Project Manager or the Information and Technology Services Manager.
Dimensions
Incumbents may be assigned simultaneous project responsibilities. Project responsibilities may require
incumbents to work evenings, weekends, and/or more than 40 hours in a week in order to meet project
milestones and deadlines.
